Made to Measure
How to take accurate measurements for a made-to-measure wedding dress
Wherever you are in the world, we make your dress to your measurements. Take your measurements step by step with our animated form and send them to us; we'll finalise the fabric, lace and design details together on a video call.

Before you start
- •Write the unit next to each measurement (cm or inches).
- •Hold the tape snug against the body, without pulling it tight or adding seam allowance.
- •Wear shoes with the same heel height you'll wear on your wedding day.
- •For circumference measurements, keep the tape parallel to the floor all the way round.
- •Measure over thin, close-fitting clothing, and ask someone to help you if possible.
What you'll need
A measuring tape, a thin string to tie around your waist, shoes with your wedding-day heel height, and a pen and paper.
Double-check your measurements before sending them. Any changes to our designs beyond measurements and neckline depth are discussed together during the consultation.
Measurement Guide
- 1
Height
Stand straight with your back against a wall, without shoes. Measure from the top of your head to the floor.
- 2
Bust
Around the fullest part of the bust, keeping the tape parallel to the floor and not too tight. Wear the type of bra you'll wear on the day.
- 3
Underbust
Directly under the bust, with your arms relaxed by your sides.
- 4
Cup
From above the bust to under the bust, over the centre of the breast. Add your bra size and whether it's padded in the notes.
- 5
Waist
Tie a thin string around the narrowest part of your waist and leave it there as a reference until you finish. Measure without pulling your stomach in.
- 6
Hips
Around the widest part of your hips, with your feet together.
